Intergraph Releases New Version of Enterprise Viewing and Markup Software

Intergraph customers execute fast track projects that often involve multiple parties with numerous locations and various engineering and business document authoring tools.  SmartPlant Markup Plus provides these customers with the capability to view, markup and perform related tasks on many different document types, all without the need for the original authoring applications.  A major part of this new release includes embedded components developed by Informative Graphics Corp. (IGC), a leading provider of high-quality viewing, annotation, redaction and publishing software since 1990.  Further, the embedded IGC components provide an open, XML-based markup format which will enable powerful new interrogation, searching and linking capabilities.

SmartPlant Markup Plus is bundled with SmartPlant Foundation, the world’s most proven, industry-standard engineering information management solution in the process, power, and marine industries.  Designed for phased implementation, ISO 15926-compliant SmartPlant Foundation encompasses a plant’s design, modifications, upgrades, and refurbishment, effectively managing the evolving facility configuration from front-end engineering design to decommissioning.

“IGC solutions streamline the viewing, markup and collaboration process for documents and projects in many industries,” said Gary Heath, IGC president & CEO. “Intergraph’s SmartPlant Markup Plus is a perfect complement to our document viewing and markup capabilities and will provide Intergraph customers with tools that will lead to increased performance as well as a savings in both time and money.”

Patrick Holcomb, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine executive vice president, said, “We are always looking for ways to add value for our customers, and our partnership with IGC will enhance SmartPlant Markup Plus with a better viewing and markup engine for our clients. Intergraph customers can now take advantage of this technology to leverage their workflows in open formats that will increase their productivity and global competitiveness.”
SmartPlant Enterprise is an integrated solutions suite that provides full design, construction, materials and engineering data management capabilities needed for the creation, safe operation and maintenance, and capital Project Life Cycle Management (cPLM) of large-scale process, power, marine and offshore projects. The software’s intelligent data-centric and rules-based solutions enable users to share data globally, build safety into plants early in the design process, and efficiently construct and manage the engineering design basis throughout the life cycle of an asset.

The ARC Advisory Group, a leading industry analyst firm, ranked Intergraph the No. 1 overall engineering design 3D software and process engineering tools (PET) provider worldwide according to its PET Worldwide Outlook Market Analysis and Forecast through 2013.
