Arithmetica Launches Pointfuse V2 at Intergeo

Arithmetica chose Intergeo 2016 – at the Hamburg Messe and Congress in Germany – to launch Pointfuse V2. The eagerly anticipated new version of the point cloud processing software, Pointfuse V2, is now available for immediate download from http://pointfuse.com/get-pointfuse/ including, for a limited time, a free trial version.

Pointfuse V2 represents a major change in the way that point cloud data is automatically converted to three dimensional vector models. Offering a “one button” approach, the new techniques in Pointfuse V2 not only convert point clouds into 3D vector models with accurate geometry, but also enable discrete surfaces in these models to be isolated and manipulated in third party software to a greater extent than before.

“This is a step change in the way point clouds are converted,” commented Mark Senior, Business Development Manager at Arithmetica – the company behind Pointfuse. “The powerful point cloud engine at the heart of Pointfuse V2 will ensure that users can continue to work with the ever increasing size and density of point clouds while still supporting the generation, manipulation and use of vector data on a daily basis for real world projects.”

Pointfuse V2 allows users to generate 3D geometry automatically as a “one button” solution, regardless of the source of the point cloud. Unlike meshing techniques, the vector geometries produced by Pointfuse V2 are separated along natural break lines or edges, allowing manipulation using a variety of design or manufacturing software.

“Pointfuse V2 is easy to use and easy to integrate within existing workflows,” continued Senior. “In fact we are so confident in the new version, we are offering users of V1.2 a free upgrade to V2 and, for a limited time, a free trial version of Pointfuse V2 so interested parties can explore its potential.”
