China Manages and Serves Forestry Data with ERDAS APOLLO

After evaluating several technologies, SFA chose to use ERDAS APOLLO as the platform core.  ERDAS APOLLO is the market-leading enterprise solution for managing and delivering distributed data, consistently serving virtually any digital object within an enterprise quicker and with less hardware than competing image serving products. An interoperable solution based on OGC/ISO standards, ERDAS APOLLO is easily integrated into most systems and can rapidly serve data to clients supporting WMS, WFS, WCS, ECWP and JPIP. Additionally, ERDAS APOLLO ensures remarkably fast performance, even when handling massive data archives and many users. After SFA made its selection, Beijing Digital LandView, the ERDAS distributor in China, assisted with localization and set-up of ERDAS APOLLO for the solution.

“This is a good example of an organization with a massive, distributed data collection that must be managed and shared efficiently. ERDAS APOLLO can effectively handle this task.” said Jane Wu, General Manager, Beijing Digital LandView.

“We’re very pleased that SFA chose ERDAS APOLLO for this project,” said Kaushik Chakraborty, Vice President – Asia Pacific, ERDAS. “ERDAS APOLLO is a powerful, flexible solution designed to grow with customers. Organizations like SFA, who face ever-increasing data collections and user demands, can easily manage their data management and delivery challenges with ERDAS APOLLO’s automatic catalog updating, unwavering high performance under heavy user load, and a standards-based architecture that can interface with different clients.”
