The announcement was made today at the Trimble Agriculture Reseller Conference.
Coverage
Trimble CenterPoint RTX can deliver better than 4 centimeter (1.5 inch) accuracies in real time. Initially, the coverage area for CenterPoint RTX offered a direct, satellite-delivered correction service over a broad, central swath of North America. In September, the coverage area was expanded to offer cellular-delivered corrections throughout Australia. Now, the coverage area for cellular-delivered corrections has been expanded worldwide, where reliable data connections are available using the Trimble DCM-300 modem.
Positioning Service Portfolio
Trimble RTX technology powers the CenterPoint RTX correction service. It provides high-accuracy GNSS positioning without the use of traditional reference station-based differential RTK infrastructure. The global expansion of the RTX technology further extends Trimble’s comprehensive portfolio of correction services, which includes: Trimble VRS Now™, network-based Trimble CenterPoint VRS as well as OmniSTAR VBS, HP, XP and G2.
“Trimble has been developing technology and positioning solutions for a variety of applications and industries for decades. Over time, we have expanded our service offerings to include a broad range of solutions to satisfy users’ needs. Now Trimble offers a unique service — worldwide real-time 4 centimeter corrections,” said Patricia Boothe, general manager of Trimble’s Positioning Services Division. “While the CenterPoint RTX service is initially being offered for agriculture applications, we look forward to offering global solutions and services across a variety of applications and markets.”
Agricultural Product Support
The Trimble CenterPoint RTX correction service combines the RTX positioning innovations with convenient, widely available cellular communications delivery. Agriculture customers subscribing to this CenterPoint RTX service will need the Trimble DCM-300 modem and a cellular data plan. The service is compatible with both the Trimble CFX-750™ and FmX® displays and the new AG-372 GNSS receiver.
“We’re committed to offering a variety of correction choices and expanding the coverage area for high-accuracy correction services for Trimble’s agriculture customers worldwide,” said Erik Arvesen, vice president of Trimble’s Agriculture Division. “Our customers require a range of correction services for a variety of regions, crops and terrains, and with CenterPoint RTX, we continue to deliver those options.”
