Philippines Launches Regional GIS Centre

The National Economic Development Authority of the Philippines has just recently launched its Regional Geographic Information Systems Centre in the Caraga Region which aims to encourage sharing of spatial information among government, private, and academic institutions in the region. The Caraga region is a provincial administrative region located at the north-eastern portion of the island of Mindanao, and is composed of four provinces; Agusan Del Norte, Agusan Del Sur, Surigao Del Norte, and Surigao Del Sur.
