The Academic Staff College of Gauhati University will coordinate a satellite-based training programme on basics of remote sensing, geographic information system and geographic positioning system from August 1 this year. “The experts from the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun, will interact with students through live sessions via Edusat, satellite of the Indian Space Research Organization,” said Krishna Gopal Bhattacharyya, the director of Academic Staff College, adding that the course would include lecture sessions, practical demonstrations and evaluation tests.
