AUVSI Unveils New Logo for 50th Anniversary

The Brand Refresh is a Part of AUVSI’s 50th Anniversary  Celebrating Half a Century of Successful Advocacy and Plans for the Next 50 Years of Collaboration and Innovation

(ARLINGTON, VA)  Today, the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) rolled out a new logo that represents the organization’s commitment to inclusive and safe adoption of autonomous technology. The brand emphasizes a spirit of collaboration and connection while supporting the foundation for AUVSI’s new strategic objectives in its 50th year.

Founded in December 1972, AUVSI got its start advocating for the advancement of uncrewed systems and robotics. Growing rapidly over the next five decades, AUVSI became a critical resource for technological innovation. Today, policy and regulation are the greatest barriers to the industry’s progress. In that spirit, AUVSI is increasing its investment in advocacy, government relations, and policy to chart the path forward for the uncrewed and autonomous community.

“As we reflected on several important milestones – including the celebration of our 50th anniversary and name change to adopt ‘uncrewed’ earlier this year – we felt it was important to visually signal to our community that we’re looking forward,” said Michael Wilbur, director of engagement for AUVSI. “The new design should feel familiar to our members and partners, while also presenting a fresh and approachable identity to newcomers to the industry and new stakeholders in the adoption of uncrewed systems and autonomy.”

AUVSI’s new look isn’t the only big change the organization has planned this year. The nonprofit also announced a number of strategic initiatives starting in 2022. AUVSI officially adopted the word “uncrewed” to replace “unmanned” throughout its brand materials; it also launched the “Autonomy for All” campaign to celebrate its 50th anniversary and promote the safe and equitable adoption of new technology.

AUVSI has also rebranded and reorganized a number of high-value events and resources to better serve the needs of its members, including:

AUVSI also announced Aville, a new, free online platform to discuss and build the future of autonomy. This first-of-its-kind resource will provide educational resources, forums, and job opportunities for students, industry professionals, and the general public. Aville is a critical element of AUVSI’s strategy to advocate for the safe adoption of autonomous technology. It will be opened for Beta users on-site at XPONENTIAL 2022, followed by a broader community opening in the coming months.

Together, AUVSI’s new brand, new focus, and new value proposition will set the stage for the next era of autonomous innovation.
