Blue Marble attends Surveying, Mapping, and Geoinformation Technology Equipment Expo in Ninjing, China

Hallowell, Maine – Blue Marble Geographics (bluemarblegeo.com) recently concluded a successful exhibit at the China Surveying, Mapping, and Geoinformation Technology Equipment Expo in Nanjing, China. Alongside Blue Marble’s Chinese partner Beijing E-Carto Technologies, the company brought its message of affordable, reliable and easy to use GIS to a new market of local GIS companies and government officials. This is the second visit to the People’s Republic of China by this Maine-based company, and it underlines the global reach of its innovative GIS software products.

For more than twenty-five years, Blue Marble’s affordable, user-friendly GIS software has been meeting the needs of hundreds of thousands satisfied customers throughout the world. Users come from all industries including software, oil and gas, mining, civil engineering, surveying, and technology companies, as well as government departments and academic institutions.

Since its inception in 1996, the China Surveying, Mapping, and Geoinformation Technology Equipment Expo has sought to promote growth in the geospatial sector within the People’s Republic of China. The Expo covers all aspects of GIS and geospatial technology, from equipment and software to new theories and industry trends.

Blue Marble’s partnership with Beijing E-Carto began in 2017. This Beijing-based company is focused exclusively on the expanding mapping and cartography industry in China. The company distributes GIS and mapping software products such as Blue Marble’s Global Mapper, the Global Mapper LiDAR Module and the Geographic Calculator. E-Carto provides local language support and services in addition to reselling Blue Marble software.

“Obviously China is an important market with rapid technological growth even in areas of LiDAR and drone imagery collection.” stated Patrick Cunningham, Blue Marble President. “We are excited to work with E-Carto to expand our offerings in China providing our traditional Global Mapper GIS software along with its new Pixels to Points drone imagery processing, LiDAR tools, and 3D analysis tools.”

While in China Blue Marble conducted a one-day LiDAR workshop in partnership with E-Carto. Scheduled to coincide with the Expo, this workshop covered all aspects of point cloud processing using Global Mapper’s LiDAR Module.
