Terra Drone and Hitachi Construction Machinery Announce Partnership to Advance UAV Land-Surveying

TOKYOTerra Drone, Asia’s leading service provider of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), and Hitachi Construction Machinery, the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, have announced a partnership to accelerate full-automatic UAV operation at construction sites.

Terra Drone, based in Tokyo, Japan, is a UAV pioneer in surveying and analyzing site conditions of job sites within the construction industry. The company was born as a part of Terra Group, selling 30,000 electric vehicles annually in Asia. Its participation in Hitachi Construction Machinery is comparable to that made in Japanese construction giant Kajima.

“What Terra Drone can provide to our customers is land-surveying with fully automated UAV operation and analysis of its information, which is transmitted over the Internet to software to create graphical representations as floor plans and cross section plans [Image_1],” said Toru Tokushige, CEO of Terra Drone. “That is our strength in comparison to other UAV competitors.”

Terra Drone also utilizes a fixed-wing UAV with 5 hours flight time and is currently experimenting with land-surveying at huge construction sites in the United States. In addition to being used in the construction industry, Terra Drone will also apply its methods in other fields, like agriculture, inspection for oil, and electricity power plants.

With this partnership with Hitachi Construction Machinery, Terra Drone accelerates its growth and innovation more rapidly than ever.
