AGI Awards for Excellence to be Announced at GEO Business

London, 23 April 2024 – The Association for Geographic Information (AGI), the membership group for organisations and individuals working in the geospatial sector, will present its Awards for Excellence at the UK’s largest geospatial event GEO Business. Working with event organisers Diversified Communications, the Association will also have a significant presence on the show floor, which it will use to make announcements about new AGI Networks, forthcoming surveys and research activities, and outreach events.

“GEO Business is a significant event in the UK geospatial calendar and we are once again thrilled to offer our support and be part of the packed programme of live demos, interactive sessions and CPD accredited learning opportunities,” commented Fergus Craig, Co-Chair of the Association for Geographic Information.

“GEO Business was the obvious platform for us to present the winners of the much-anticipated AGI Awards for Excellence, relaunched this year after a ten-year break and we are delighted to announce that some of the judges and supporters of the Awards will join us on stage to present the winners with their accolades.”

Submissions for the AGI Awards were encouraged from organisations and individuals, working in or with geospatial, who want to showcase innovation, achievements and best practice. Categories are the ‘Chairperson’s Award for Outstanding Service to the Geospatial Community’, ‘Geospatial Professional of the Year’, ‘Early Career Professional’, ‘Excellence with Impact’, ‘Environment and Sustainability’ and ‘Ethics and Responsible Use’. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on the 5th June 2024 at ExCel London.

“We are pleased to once again be working with the AGI again in the run up to this years’ event,” added Oliver Hughes, Portfolio Director at Diversified Communications, organisers of GEO Business 24. “Their support, and that of their members is integral to the events success, and we are excited to host their awards presentation.”

GEO Business is a two-day event which takes place at ExCel London on the 5-6th June 2024. Attracting over 3,500 professionals who will discover and debate the latest technical advancements and best practice in the geospatial sector, GEO Business features an exhibition of over 120 leading brands and start-ups and an education programme made up of 120 plus sessions, across 6 theatres, covering new trends, informative case studies and pressing industry issues.
