Esri and Prince Sultan University Advance GIS Education Through Strategic Partnership

Memorandum of Understanding with Institution Enhances GIS Curriculum and Research Opportunities

REDLANDS, Calif.—March 29, 2024— In a groundbreaking step for geographic information systems (GIS) education, Esri the world leader in location intelligence, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Prince Sultan University (PSU) in Saudi Arabia. The collaboration underscores PSU’s dedication to equipping its community with top-tier GIS capabilities, aiming to enrich its curriculum across diverse disciplines with Esri’s advanced technology and marking a milestone in academic excellence and GIS innovation for the region.

Under the agreement, PSU students and faculty will have access to Esri’s comprehensive GIS solutions, facilitating applications in urban planning, environmental management, spatial analysis, geological studies, and GeoAI research. The initiative is set to substantially enrich PSU’s educational offerings, creating an ecosystem where students can develop essential skills for a technologically advanced landscape.
