DroneMetrex and Scientific Aerospace Introduce The TopoDrone-4Scight – Accurate Photogrammetry Made Easy

September 14, 2015 — DroneMetrex and Scientific Aerospace have combined their world leading technologies in a Strategic Alliance that delivers to the Geospatial industry a photogrammetric mapping solution saving many years and tens of millions of dollars of research by each company – the TopoDrone-4Scight.

Building on the advantages of Scientific Aerospace’s industry-proven experience over 6 years in 6 continents, their unique designed and technically advanced multi-rotor drone is a perfect synergy with DroneMetrex world-leading mapping accuracy technology to produce the world’s most accurate, safest and easiest complete photogrammetric mapping system – the TopoDrone-4Scight.

The TopoDrone-4Scight is an easy-to-use multi-rotor accurate mapping drone, which will complement the capabilities of the TopoDrone-100 fixed-wing mapping drone. The TopoDrone-4Scight easily collects photogrammetric mapping data of unprecedented accuracy (20mm horizontal and better than 25mm vertical) for rapid integration into a wide range of industries including Surveying, Urban Mapping, Civil Engineering, Mining, Agriculture, Bridge and Dam Wall Mapping, Post Disaster Mapping and other industries.

Users will enjoy the complement from a whole set of the TopoDrone-4Scight unique features such as mapping with no ground control (onboard PPK Direct Georeferencing), interchangeable sensors (thermal, HD video), all using Dynamic-stabilised Active Mount to ensure near-nadir position of each photo with no “crab” (yaw), and many other unique advantages.

Scientific Aerospace Managing Director Richard Pace says: “The TopoDrone-4Scight will be invaluable for many of our customers. The most important client benefit of the new system is that it is very affordable and it is easy-to-use without complicated setup. It requires minimal training and it is easy to transport.”

Thomas Tadrowski, Managing Director of DroneMetrex, says: “The TopoDrone-4Scight is a significant addition to the whole range of our accurate photogrammetric mapping TopoDrones. This is the future of Surveying and makes accurate photogrammetric mapping easy. The new system will significantly increase mapping efficiency in response to a growing demand for fast, affordable and unprecedented quality aerial mapping data.”
