The whole point of drone surveys is to get more accurate data faster and more often. When a base station fails, pilots need to return to the field and refly. This costs the project money and time that drones are meant to save. Network Corrections is like insurance on every survey, offering one-click, Trimble Applanix-powered correction of location accuracy of drone data down to <3 cm (1.2 in) horizontal and <6 cm (2.4 in) vertical absolute accuracy.

Network Corrections drastically cuts the field setup that brings drone data down to centimeter-level accuracy. Relying on Trimble’s network of permanent GNSS reference stations, it offers global coverage without the need for a base station—and it works directly after the flight. Operators simply select Network Corrections in the Wingtra software and correct the data for centimeter-level analytics.
With Wingtra’s recent launch of SURVEY61 and a GCP-free workflow, this feature drives efficiency to the next level. Surveyors spend less time laying ground targets, and they only need to run them as checkpoints to validate the data.
By skipping the base station and extensive ground points, surveyors running repeat earthwork projects, greenfield and high-frequency surveys can send their junior pilots out to capture the needed data with confidence. Teams can then allocate their senior skills to quality control, safety, analysis and project streamlining tasks.
