Qioptiq Enhances WinLens3D Optical Design Software for Enabling Optimized Optical System Development

WALTHAM, Mass. – Qioptiq, an Excelitas Technologies® Company and global technology leader in delivering innovative optical and photonic solutions, has released an enhanced version of its optical design software WinLens3D for both the full and free basic versions. The software was first launched 25 years ago and now supports significantly improved graph and lens drawing printouts – especially for zoom systems.

The new EFL Solve function automatically changes the final curvature to maintain a chosen system focal length. In addition, Qioptiq has implemented the latest glass database as well as optimized functions for troubleshooting.

The latest WinLens3D basic version software and the update for the full version can be downloaded for free at www.qioptiq-shop.com. The WinLens3D full version package can also be downloaded from the same URL for a minimum license fee.

The Windows-based software is intuitive and provides a comprehensive overview on optical theory suitable for both beginners as well as professional optical designers. Qioptiq has many years of experience in the simulation, analysis, optimization, and tolerance analysis of optical systems, and continues to invest in new development of the WinLens suite.

On October 23, 2018, Qioptiq will host its second free, English-language introductory webinar to the software. Detailed information about the software, webinar agenda and registration link is available at: www.winlens.de.
