Skyline Software Systems Releases PhotoMesh™ v7.4 with LiDAR Integration and Improved Aerial Triangulation Capability

Herndon, VA – Skyline Software Systems Inc. announced today that it has released PhotoMesh™ v7.4 software suite as part of its SkylineGlobe products. This update integrates light detection and ranging (LiDAR) data, significantly improves processing speed and ground control point editing and increases output options for most GIS standards.

PhotoMesh v7.4 supports the loading of LiDAR (point cloud) data into a project to improve the accuracy and quality of the 3D model including under vegetation canopies. If LiDAR color data is available, PhotoMesh v7.4 will texture areas not covered by photos.

The improved aerial triangulation (AT) process significantly improves the speed of model creation and provides export options for AT results either as multiple tiles or as a single unified file. Users can define their own internal coordinate system.

Additional improvements in the new version of PhotoMesh include built-in preset libraries to simplify user workflow, the ability to use a Projected Coordinate System throughout processing and export, and a new editing capability to better tie in ground control points.

“The new PhotoMesh release offers a great improvement in processing time,” stated Skyline Software Systems President Robert Peters. “With LiDAR integration, PhotoMesh v7.4 improves the accuracy, enhances ground level features (even under vegetation) and increases the level of 3D detail such as power lines, fences, bridge trusses and other small land features in the 3D models.”
