Septentrio Announces Special Version of AsteRx-U MARINE Receiver Dedicated to Fugro Marinestar Support

Leuven, Belgium – 13 March 2018 – Septentrio, announced today at Oceanology International in London, an additional version of its AsteRx-U MARINE receiver with support for the Fugro Marinestar service. The AsteRx-U MARINE with Fugro Marinestar PPP support will be available from June.

By incorporating Fugro Marinestar – satellite-based positioning services that make use of GPS, Glonass, Galileo and BeiDou – the AsteRx-U MARINE can deliver sub-decimetre accuracy at any global location. Continuity of operation is guaranteed by correction transmission over nine overlapping beams. To complement the standard satellite broadcast delivery channels, internet delivery is also available using Ntrip (Networked Transport of RTCM via Internet Protocol).

‘The AsteRx-U MARINE has already established itself as receiver of choice for users requiring highly precise and reliable positioning offshore. Now, with an additional version dedicated to FUGRO Marinestar PPP it has moved further ahead of the field offering even greater flexibility to offshore users,’ said Chris Lowet, Product Manager at Septentrio.

The AsteRx-U MARINE together with Fugro Marinestar requires no additional hardware to provide precise and reliable quad-constellation PPP positioning for offshore application such as dredging, marine construction, navy, hydrographic, wind farm and oceanographic research.
