GeoCalc SDK 7.4 Update Includes Support for New Projections and JSON Wrapper Classes for Calling to GeoCalc Cloud

Hallowell, Maine  – Blue Marble Geographics (bluemarblegeo.com) is pleased to announce the immediate availability of version 7.4 of the GeoCalc Software Development Kit (SDK). This powerful toolkit allows developers to embed the world’s most comprehensive coordinate parameter database into their geospatial software, ensuring efficiency and precision in the application’s coordinate management and transformation processes. New and updated functionality in the 7.4 release includes new projection support for Bonne South, Krovak North, and Lambert Tangent West; Support for new JSON wrapper classes for accessing the forthcoming GeoCalc Cloud WebService; Updated HTDP to v3.2.5.; New support for NADCON 5.0; VDatumTidal class to support v3.7; Enhancements to the AreaOfUse class for better analysis and organization; and EPSG updates for version 9.2.

For over two decades, Blue Marble’s affordable, user-friendly GIS software has been meeting the needs of hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers throughout the world. Users come from all industries including software, oil and gas, mining, civil engineering, surveying, and technology companies, as well as government departments and academic institutions.

Blue Marble’s GeoCalc engine is the recognized benchmark for efficient and accurate coordinate management. As the geodetic foundation of countless popular software titles, including Blue Marble’s Geographic Calculator, GeoCalc provides GIS, GPS, surveying, engineering, and mapping applications with the foremost coordinate transformation capabilities. The GeoCalc database offers access to over 12,000 coordinate system objects including linear and angular units, ellipsoids, geodetic datums, and coordinate reference systems. GeoCalc also contains advanced geomatic tools such as vertical datums, grid shifts, time-dependent coordinate transformation models (HTDP), and the ability to generate custom best-fit transformations and custom coordinate objects of any type.

“This update to GeoCalc includes the usual host of projections, updates to things like HTDP and VDatum,” stated Patrick Cunningham, Blue Marble President. “But it features a new JSON wrapper class for accessing the forthcoming GeoCalc Cloud Webservice. This will enable GeoCalc developers to tie into our web hosted version of GeoCalc for updates or to tie into their own hosted version of the GeoCalc API. We’re very excited about the possibilities for our customers.”
