FLIR Announces DM285 Industrial Thermal Imaging Digital Multimeter

WILSONVILLE, Ore. – FLIR announced today the FLIR DM285™ industrial thermal imaging digital multimeter clamp meter, an industrial inspection, troubleshooting and diagnostic tool for electrical distribution, electro-mechanical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning/refrigeration (HVAC/R), and electronics equipment applications. Powered by the FLIR Lepton microcamera thermal core, the DM285 combines thermal imaging with electrical measurement features in one powerful inspection, troubleshooting, and diagnostic tool. It features FLIR’s IGM™ (infrared guided measurement) technology, which visually guides users to the precise location of a problem, pinpointing issues faster and more efficiently. Wireless connectivity allows for direct connection to the FLIR InSite™ professional workflow management app, while a robust package makes this DM suitable for use in any rugged environment.

The 18-function, 160×120 thermal resolution FLIR DM285 is FLIR’s most advanced digital multimeter. It features an infrared camera with built-in worklight and onboard data storage for 10 sets of 40k scalar measurements and 100 images, with recall function for data review. Wireless connectivity with the InSite cloud- based workflow optimization system streamlines the inspection process and simplifies data collection, sharing, and reporting. This DMM also measures temperatures up to 400°C.

Flexible battery options include the long life FLIR TA04 Li-Poly rechargeable battery and/or standard AA batteries that ensure operability 24/7. Equipped with extensive standard equipment, the unit comes with batteries, high quality silicone test leads, alligator clips, Type K thermocouple, test lead storage/holder attachment and a soft carrying case. The DM285 has a 10 year limited warranty.

Electrical professionals and field service professionals can use the DM285 for non-contact thermal imaging to quickly scan for overheating system components, and then use the DMM test functions to troubleshoot and diagnose the fault. The DM285 is ideal for troubleshooting electrical applications, including overheating panels, fuses, and loose connections. It can be used for diagnosing issues in electro-mechanical equipment like rotating and reciprocating pumps and compressors, electric motors and drives and associated monitoring and automation systems. It is also a good choice for HVAC/R applications, as well as repair of printed circuit board components, voltage regulators, power supplies and microprocessors.

The FLIR DM285 will be available in the Q4 2017 for $699.99. For additional information visit www.flir.com/IGM-Meters.
