Simple GIS Software, LLC has announced that it has released version 9.5 of its Simple GIS Client Application, a lightweight but powerful desktop GIS software for Windows PCs, laptops, and tablets.
Simple GIS Client is a very affordable GIS application for Windows platforms. This is a free upgrade for existing customers of Simple GIS Client Version 9. Features of Version 9.5 updates include:
Improved performance in the rendering of raster images
Improved performance in geocode matching and routing
Bug fixed that prevented users from loading DXF files in your map.
Fixes broken links to base map data in project templates due to changes in WMS service endpoints from third party suppliers.
In addition, Version 9 of Simple GIS Client introduced new data wizards to allow users to connect, download and process popular data on demand including data from the US Census Bureau and OpenStreetMaps. With Simple GIS Client, users can easily create geocoded and routable detailed street maps for their state of interest.
Simple GIS is also highly customizable and provides the ability for users to write their own custom VB procedures and functions. and includes a fully integrated debugger to help users troubleshoot their custom VB procedures.
Simple GIS Software has also recently released its free 2017 SimpleUSA dataset. This dataset contains detailed street map data for the US based on data from OpenStreetMap and the US Census Bureau. When installed, this dataset includes a geocode and routing database as well as a pre-configured Simple GIS project file. When opened in Simple GIS Client, this project file provides geocode matching, routing, and navigation functionality for the US. This dataset is provided free of charge and can be downloaded from our website.
