WESTMINSTER, Colo.- DigitalGlobe, Inc. (NYSE: DGI), the global leader in Earth imagery and information about our changing planet, today announced it will launch a premium monitoring service, SecureWatch Sites, which provides current satellite images of high-interest, global locations on a regular basis from multiple commercial providers. SecureWatch Sites imagery is made available through the SecureWatch web-based interface with locations customized by the customer.
SecureWatch is a web-based subscription service that gives Defense and Intelligence customers access to DigitalGlobe’s industry-leading 7 billion sq. km. imagery archive – totaling 100 petabytes of data – and millions of square kilometers of daily image collections from DigitalGlobe’s constellation. SecureWatch Sites will leverage DigitalGlobe imagery, as well as imagery from SI Imaging Services’ KOMPSAT-3 and KOMPSAT-3a satellites, to ensure customers have access to timely, actionable insight for understanding and responding to change happening within their areas of interest.
“Our mission partners need ready access to the highest quality satellite imagery available in order to monitor activity and changes at key locations, to drive key mission decisions with confidence. For these front-line applications, the currency of imagery and ease of access is paramount,” said Dan Jablonsky, DigitalGlobe Senior Vice President and General Manager of Defense and Intelligence. “SecureWatch Sites assures our customers will receive current, valuable, and high-quality images of their areas of interest on the frequency that they need.”
Additionally, DigitalGlobe will expand the breadth of geospatial intelligence capabilities available in SecureWatch by incorporating two innovative products from DigitalGlobe | Radiant that provide important context and insight to the satellite imagery: GeoNews and Human Landscape. The GeoNews feature will show SecureWatch subscribers the most timely news articles associated with any area on the globe. Human Landscape adds powerful geographic information layers uniquely curated by DigitalGlobe experts from both open sources and proprietary DigitalGlobe software and algorithms to provide customers with foundational information for understanding valuable human activity. Five Human Landscape layers will be available this summer to all SecureWatch subscribers: political boundaries, military installations, airports, sea ports, and other features of interest to defense and intelligence organizations.
“Combining DigitalGlobe imagery with data sourced and enriched from multiple content partners gives our customers a multi-dimensional view of what’s happening in their areas of interest,” Jablonsky said. “GeoNews and Human Landscape will bring the imagery to life with additional geospatial intelligence and human expertise.”
The SecureWatch Sites monitoring package and additional Human Landscape layers on the country scale will be available as premium options for SecureWatch subscribers starting in late 2017. GeoNews will be available for all SecureWatch subscribers starting summer 2017.
