Luminent Provides Cost Effective Solutions for PHMSA Pipeline Safety and Regulatory Compliance

Luminent LLC announces the release of the Regulatory Accelerator, an innovative new geospatial software application that uses intelligent automation to acquire data from a company’s existing databases in order to automate required regulatory compliance while using that same data to provide the ‎company’s leadership with predictive and actionable insights.

“The first application of our system is designed to assist oil and gas pipeline operators. The Regulatory Accelerator allows the operator to gather and sort through information from multiple, highly diverse data bases and to quickly comply with Department of Transportation PHMSA [Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration] reporting and safety requirements,” said Scott Crouch, CEO of Luminent. “Our primary goal with this first use of the Regulatory Accelerator is to demonstrate how automated data and predictive analytics can reduce the cost of regulatory compliance while leveraging the power of that same data to provide very real value.”

For instance, for a pipeline operator, the Regulatory Accelerator can not only automate annual report generation but will calculate integrity management performance metrics, distinguish and differentiate different risks, and will provide insight into facility-specific information that can be used to form the basis of future investment decisions.

Designed to be a distributed system that integrates data from multiple databases or geographic information systems, Luminent’s Regulatory Accelerator can also track real-time changes to a physical facility such as a complex pipeline system, further simplifying regulatory filings and strategic decisions. This is but one example of how Luminent is using intelligent analytics to reduce compliance costs while leveraging data to provide better outcomes.
