East View Presents Pioneering African Economic Database

MINNEAPOLIS  – A reference database covering all of Africa is available for the first time with the release of the African Development Data Explorer (ADDaX), from East View.

ADDaX is the first economic product to cover all 54 African countries, and the only one to use both African and global source material. By integrating international data from trade organizations, government departments, agencies and NGOs, with African data from central banks, country Ministries of Finance and National Offices of Statistics, ADDaX tracks more than 50,000 indicators and includes greater than 26 million data records. ADDaX also features comprehensive province and municipal reporting, including legacy units such as former states.

Containing data gathered over the course of several years, and in some cases decades, ADDaX allows users to measure key economic indicators, including GDP growth, GDP per capita, consumer prices, net foreign direct investment, exchange rates, interest rates, and more. The frequently updated data is manually keyed, translated where necessary, and is processed to meet the quality standards of major financial services.

In addition to financial data, ADDaX also offers quantifiable means of monitoring social development across the continent. Users can explore data from a variety of sectors, including education, transportation, civil liberties, conflict and violence, health and pollution.

The ADDaX platform features three search features that allow users greater ease and customization; Country Profile, Sector Focus and Data Hub. Country Profile displays available data for the country selected, while Sector Focus presents available data across all countries from a selected sector. The Data Hub allows users to view datasets individually, produce time series analysis and easily merge datasets.

All three search features allow the data to be customized by topic or sector, geography, source type, date, and measurement unit. The platform data is exportable, and contains graphic reporting devices, as well as automated comparison tools and charts.

The ADDaX platform is sold as an all-inclusive database for unlimited simultaneous users and can be accessed via a password or IP verification. To request a trial or more information, please contact your sales representative or email [email protected].
