NZGB Sets Deadline for Proposing Names

This applies to:
–geographic features

–places in New Zealand

–offshore islands

–undersea features

–Antarctic features

–Crown protected areas, and

–district & region alterations,

as consented and requested by the relevant local authority.This deadline allows sufficient time to process proposals, including the undertaking of any required investigation and research. The proposals are sent to NZGB members at least two weeks before the meeting. If the NZGB supports proposed names that are within New Zealand’s territory, the NZGB will then publicly notify those proposed names and call for public submissions.
