OCC Introduces BIM Design Tools

C has created precise product models and data that allow designers to integrate accurate representations of OCC’s structured cabling components into BIM models. OCC’s BIM content consists of models and product data for OCC patch panels, fiber enclosures, cabinets, and KMJ and UMJ workstation products. Designers now can easily incorporate OCC’s structured cabling components in their analysis of a structure’s appearance, performance, constructability and cost prior to actual construction.
“OCC’s BIM content is now available on our website, and has recently been added to the AutoDesk™ Seek program that allows AutoCAD™ and AutoDesk Revit™ users to instantly search for OCC products,” said Ted Leonard, Vice President of Technology and Engineering. “This allows designers to easily and efficiently integrate precise manufacturer content into a building model.”

OCC’s BIM technology has also been created to be fully compliant with the pending BICSI BIM Standard, Document D009 – Building Information Modeling For Communications Infrastructure Systems.
