Japan Leverages Imaging Technology to Forge Africa Ties

JOGMEC – the Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation, a special resources development agency of the Japanese Government – established the Geologic Remote Sensing Centre in Botswana three years ago. The centre conducts joint research programmes and targets geological engineers in the SADC region. Hisamitsu Moriwaki, Executive Director of JOGMEC, which is tasked with acquiring a stable supply of natural resource for Japan, says the organisation was established with the purpose of supplying the necessary funds for exploration of oil, gas and metals minerals.
