Ordnance Survey and Hexagon Geospatial Partner to Develop Information Services

November 17, 2015 — Ordnance Survey and Hexagon Geospatial are pleased to announce a new partnership, with a shared focus on enabling Hexagon Smart M.Apps to support key initiatives such as Smart Cities.

Through the new partnership, Ordnance Survey content, including aerial imagery, will be a part of the Hexagon Smart M.App experience, delivering a wide range of innovative information services.

This provides geospatial solution providers with an opportunity to develop Hexagon Smart M.Apps to address targeted industry concerns.

“The Hexagon Smart M.App provides a simplified approach to developing and interpreting analytics, with the potential to address concerns for Smart Cities, migration, security, resilience and environmental changes,” said Nigel Clifford, CEO, Ordnance Survey. “By partnering with Hexagon Geospatial, both organisations are better positioned to help understand and solve significant regional and far-reaching global challenges.”

The new initiative has the potential to address multiple concerns across a city, including utilities, transportation, emergency response, security, and even insurance and health.

In June 2015, Hexagon Geospatial introduced the Hexagon Smart M.App as a new way to provide targeted, information services. Each Hexagon Smart M.App combines multi-source content, sophisticated analytics, and tailored workflows, fused together into a dynamic user experience to solve distinct business problems.

The Hexagon Smart M.App will be officially launched during the Geospatial keynote at HxGN LIVE Hong Kong on 18 November 2015.
