Bahwan Projects & Telecoms Wins Award at Geospatial Expo

Muscat, December 7, 2015 – Bahwan Projects & Telecoms (BPT), one of the flagship companies of Suhail Bahwan Group, won the ‘Best Exhibitor Award’ at the recently concluded Oman Geospatial Forum held at Sultan Qaboos University.

The award was given for the best stall design and for showcasing two of its major technologies in the field of Geospatial and Navigation brands BPT represents in the sultanate.

In a custom-designed stall at the expo, BPT displayed the latest, specialised survey-solutions equipment products from Leica Geosystems, Switzerland, and innovative GPS/navigation technology products from Garmin, US.

Air Commodore Yaqoob bin Saud al Toobi, head of National Survey Authority (NSA), Oman, along with Dr Ali Said al Balushi, head of Geography Department, Sultan Qaboos University and Saleem al Hashmi, director of Geospatial Information, NSA visited the BPT booth, where Yasser Mohammed Kheir, general manager Bahwan Projects & Telecoms received the guests and explained the various products   and solutions from Leica and Garmin on display.

Kheir said, “Geospatial technology has become an important part of several sectors today and is being applied in most developmental projects across the sultanate. As a pioneering and leading supplier of Geospatial systems and solutions in the sultanate, Bahwan Projects & Telecoms has acquired a wealth of experience and expertise in executing turnkey projects. We are proud to have earned a solid customer base that includes government departments, contractors and consultants.”

The products on display from Leica Geosystems included Leica Nova MS60 Multi Station, Leica CS35 Captivate, Leica scan Station P40, Leica Viva GNSS Receivers, Leica Zeno 20 GIS Receivers, Leica Flexline TS06plus Total Station. Products from Garmin on display included Garmin GPS with Camera Garmin Nuvicam, Garmin Nuvi 65, Garmin GPS MAP64S, Garmin Montana 680 and Fitness segment included Garmin Vivoactive Fitness Smart Watch, Garmin Fenix 3 Fitness Watches.
