Des Plaines, IL – The GIS Certification Institute (GISCI) is pleased to share that 195 geospatial professionals have earned the GIS Professional (GISP®) certification as a result of the June 2026 GISCI Geospatial Core Technical Knowledge Exam®.
Earning the GISP® credential reflects a significant professional achievement, recognizing individuals who have not only passed a rigorous technical exam but also demonstrated at least four years of full-time geospatial work experience and documented accomplishments in education, professional practice, and service to the profession.
434 candidates participated in the June 2026 exam window with a pass rate of 71 percent, which was a three-point improvement from the December 2025 exam period. Candidates who successfully passed the June 2026 exam are eligible to earn the GISP® credential upon completion and approval of their portfolio submissions.

The GISCI Geospatial Core Technical Knowledge Exam® is offered in June and December each year and evaluates competency across ten core areas of geospatial knowledge.
