Synspective Becomes First Commercial SAR Provider to Achieve Global CEOS-ARD Certification

Synspective announced that our Orthorectified Products (ORT) processing line has been certified compliant with the CEOS Analysis Ready Data (CEOS-ARD) Normalised Radar Backscatter (NRB) standard.

CEOS-ARD is the international standard for satellite data that is ready to use without preprocessing. With this milestone, Synspective becomes the first commercial SAR satellite operator globally to achieve this certification.

Compliance was confirmed through an external evaluation by the CEOS-ARD review team. CEOS — the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites — is an international coordinating body of more than 60 member and associate organizations, including JAXA, ESA, and NASA.

Key Benefits of Our Certified CEOS-ARD Products
Radiometric Terrain Correction: Standard SAR imagery suffers severe geometric and radiometric distortion in mountainous terrain, pulling features away from their true position. Our system automatically accounts for Earth’s topography using elevation data, placing objects in their correct geographic position. This is essential for mountainous regions like Japan (approx. 70% mountainous).

Fixed-Grid Stacking: Ideal for monitoring evolving environmental events like major floods, this feature ensures that successive imagery acquisitions share an identical grid and pixel spacing. Data drops seamlessly into time-series analysis, eliminating the need for time-consuming re-gridding or resampling.
