Bowman Consulting wins $3.9M in USGS geospatial task orders

RESTON, Va. – Bowman Consulting Group Ltd. (NASDAQ:BWMN) announced today it received task orders totaling $3.9 million under the U.S. Geological Survey’s Geospatial Products and Services Contract. The $463 million market cap company has demonstrated solid momentum with revenue reaching $490 million over the last twelve months and 15% revenue growth.

The engineering services firm will conduct airborne lidar data acquisition across Missouri, Kansas and Alabama, covering tens of thousands of square miles. Bowman will also produce elevation-derived hydrography products using Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar data in Alaska to support the USGS 3D Hydrography Program.

The work will be executed through Bowman’s Merrick-Surdex Joint Venture, which has worked with USGS for over a decade on multi-state aerial lidar data acquisition and processing. The company said it will use recently acquired high-performance aircraft assets for the projects.

“These assignments reflect exactly the type of high-value, multi-year federal work that builds durable growth and positions us for future opportunities with USGS,” said Gary Bowman, founder and CEO, according to the press release statement. The company’s operational efficiency is reflected in its impressive gross profit margin of 53%, while InvestingPro analysis suggests the stock is currently undervalued. Bowman, headquartered in Reston, Virginia, is a national engineering services firm with over 2,500 employees in more than 100 locations throughout the United States. The company provides planning, engineering, geospatial, construction management and environmental consulting services.
