Phenna Group moves into geospatial sector with ISGroup acquisition

Nottingham-based testing, inspection, certification and compliance (TICC) business Phenna Group has continued its acquisition spree having acquired Australian-based ISGroup.

The move marks Phenna’s 15th deal of 2025 and its first significant move into the geospatial sector.

Perth-headquartered ISGroup, founded in 1997 by Peter Rullo, has grown from a surveying business into a multi-division group providing geospatial data and analytics to industries including infrastructure, resources and urban planning. The company also operates in the UK and other international markets.

Phenna said the deal reflects growing demand for spatial intelligence across infrastructure, environmental monitoring, asset management and digital transformation.

Rullo, who will remain with the business, said the partnership would support ISGroup’s expansion plans, including further investment in technology and acquisitions.

Phenna’s Asia divisional MD Brett Coleman said ISGroup offered “a clear growth trajectory” and would complement the group’s existing portfolio. CEO Phil Marshall added that the deal strengthens Phenna’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

Advisers on the deal included Thomson Geer and RSM for Phenna, and Deloitte and Squire Patton Boggs for ISGroup.
