GISCI Transitions Certificate Generation to Certifier to Enhance Efficiency and Digital Accessibility

Des Plaines, IL – June 9, 2025 – The GIS Certification Institute (GISCI) is pleased to announce that it is transitioning its certificate generation process to Certifier, a leading platform for issuing secure and verifiable digital credentials.

This change is part of GISCI’s ongoing commitment to improving the experience for Geographic Information Systems Professionals (GISPs) and streamlining administrative processes. Beginning May 1, 2025, all newly awarded and renewed GISP and GISP-Emerging (GISP-E) certificates will be issued digitally through Certifier.

Certifier provides a secure, environmentally friendly solution that allows certificate holders to access, download, and share their GISP credentials online. The platform also enables easy verification by employers and organizations, improving the transparency and credibility of professional qualifications.

“We are excited to partner with Certifier to modernize our credentialing process,” said Kent Park, GISCI Certification Coordinator. “This move supports our mission to recognize and promote competent GIS professionals while adapting to the evolving needs of the geospatial industry.”

About GISCI
