1Spatial Continues Public Safety GIS Expansion

Cambridge, UK- ( www.1spatial.com). 1Spatial recently announced the appointment of Public Safety GIS leader, Richard Kelly. This announcement comes during a critical period of growth as 1Spatial continues to expand and invest in Public Safety GIS, specifically the transition to Next Generation 9-1-1.

Since the hire of Sandi Stroud, Director of Public Safety, mid-year 2024, 1Spatial has accelerated the introduction of new products and enhanced the value of solutions provided to 9-1-1 customers and the GIS data authorities who support that critical mission.

About Richard Kelly, Senior Solutions Architect

Richard has committed the last 30 years to supporting GIS for 9-1-1 and Public Safety, the last 20 of which were focused in private sector 9-1-1 technology development. He served in a leadership role as the Vice President of Enterprise Geospatial Solutions for 911 Datamaster Inc. until 2021 when he joined Motorola Solutions as their Director of NGCS State and Federal GIS Advocacy.

He has published several articles and whitepapers on 9-1-1 technology issues and is currently active in standards development leadership roles within NENA, APCO, and the National States Geographic Information Council (NSGIC). He was awarded the Ron Cottingham Collaboration award from the Texas NENA Board in 2019 and has been awarded patents in advancement of location technologies for 9-1-1.

About Sandi Stroud, Director of Public Safety

Sandi has spent her career working in the private and public sector of 911 and GIS. Sandi has worn the hat of a local GIS manager, regional GIS coordinator, and supported the federal public safety mission with GIS. Drawing on her vast background managing and applying geospatial capabilities to improve efficiency, transparency, and productivity to the local government stakeholder, Sandi has deployed several statewide solutions and launched a line of commercial GIS products. Most recently, she served as the 911 program manager for the State of Minnesota where she became a thought leader and subject matter expert in 9-1-1 networks by managing and the transition from legacy to end-state NG9-1-1.
