Spatial join nima as a patron – With trusted data, great things happen.

Cambridge, UK, (www.1spatial.com) 1Spatial, the global provider of geospatial software and solutions for strong data foundations and data governance, is delighted to join nima (formerly UK BIM Alliance) as a bronze patron, helping make information management across our built and managed assets business as usual.

nima’s vision is a thriving and sustainable built and natural environment transformed by exploiting purpose-driven data. As trusted advisors, they facilitate the implementation and integration of practical information management practices across our built and environmental infrastructure.

Their mission is to inspire, influence, connect and support everyone active in the built environment, and enable them to better manage information vital to the needs of our times.

As quoted by Dr Anne Kemp OBE, chair of nima:

“The UK has been hugely influential in the international adoption of BIM since the launch of the UK government’s drive for change in 2011. Setting a ‘BIM Mandate’ in April 2016 did much to stimulate people, process and technology change and to help build a standards-driven movement. And since 2016, the Alliance has also helped maintain momentum, by, for example, supporting development of the UK BIM Framework.

However, the debate has started to shift. It is no longer just about BIM – often seen as a technological change – but about wider industry information management challenges, including building safety, climate change, and delivering value across the life cycle of our built and managed assets.”

1Spatial want to support nima’s vision for a thriving and sustainable built and natural environment transformed by using data. 1Spatial embraces the philosophy – “with trusted data, great things happen”.

1Spatial facilitate the implementation and integration of practical information management practices across our built and environmental infrastructure. 1Spatial look forward to being part of the shift from BIM to addressing wider information management challenges, including building safety, climate change, and delivering value across the life cycle of our built and managed assets.

nima Vice Chair, Casey D Rutland says:

“With similar outlooks on our approach to the data and information management transformation of our industry, we’re grateful to now be supported by 1Spatial. For many years (B)IM and geospatial data discussions have been developed in isolation from one another and we’re looking forward to bringing together these communities with the expertise and experience of 1Spatial.”

Matthew White, Head of Built Environment, 1Spatial comments:

“1Spatial look forward to sharing our skills, knowledge, and experiences with nima and the wider nima ecosystem, championing the adoption of information management and digital twins for our built environment”.

Pioneers in Location Master Data Management (LMDM), 1Spatial plc helps organisations develop strong data foundations that enable informed and confident decision-making for a safer, smarter and more sustainable world. Operating at the intersection of two fast-growing global markets, GIS (geospatial information systems) and MDM (master data management), our patented technology powers some of the largest and most complex data sets in the world, such as the US Census Bureau and Ordnance Survey UK.

Demand for current and authoritative geospatial data has never been greater, often driven by sustainability and Net Zero goals. In every sector, organisations are using location data to make better decisions – improving profits, saving time, and saving lives. Over the past 30 years, we have helped more than one thousand organisations improve the governance and quality of their data across a range of industries, with our core focus areas being Government, Public Safety, AEC, Utilities and Transportation.

The driving force behind our technology is the 1Spatial Platform, a no-code cloud-based integrated data system (or ecosystem). Flexible, intuitive, and powerful, this collection of 1Spatial products can transform, validate, and process complex data at speed and at scale, saving our customers time, money, and resources by automating the data management process.

Using our technology, combined with our data expertise, we connect all elements of the data ecosystem together, while enabling continued data governance and quality – even as the data continues to evolve. This approach, which we call ‘Location Master Data Management’, ensures that spatial (and non-spatial) data remain current, complete, accessible, accurate and uniform, removing any formatting roadblocks that may impede data integration or sharing.

We partner with major technology consultancies and GIS providers such as ESRI, bringing together our people, innovative solutions, industry knowledge and experience to deliver world class solutions.

1Spatial plc is AIM-listed, headquartered in Cambridge, UK, with operations in the UK, Ireland, USA, France, Belgium, Tunisia, and Australia.
