Count down to the Pix4D 24-hour virtual User Conference on Oct 6 with expert speakers and product updates

Lausanne, Switzerland-  Pix4D, the market leader in photogrammetry solutions, is hosting a virtual User Conference on October 6th. The event will take place over 24 consecutive hours, with different sessions targeting different time zones. It will begin at 10 am Central European Time (CET). The conference is Pix4D’s first one since the 2019 User Conference which took place in Denver, Colorado. It will be recorded, with material available to re-watch for 6 months after the event.

The event will feature guest speakers who are expert product users who will share their experiences. The speaker list includes Douglas Spotted Eagle of SMG on forensic photogrammetry investigations, our biggest single dataset project with Martin Merkhommer of Quantum Systems, and Logan Woolfson of Unitrans Africa on photogrammetry in precision agriculture. In addition, Pix4D product owners and developers will present the products they work on, including the new capabilities and features. As a result, the event will show Pix4D software in-depth and in-use, giving attendees the chance to ask questions of both users and developers.

“We are very excited about the opportunity this conference provides because we will be talking to users all over the world – live. We will hear about and connect with professionals using photogrammetry in all industries,” said Christoph Strecha, CEO and co-founder of Pix4D. “We wanted to find a way to meet everyone and stay COVID-safe. Hosting an online conference is an exciting alternative, with the decision to hold it over 24 consecutive hours as a way of making it unique. We look forward to connecting with our users soon.”

The Pix4D User Conference 2021 will begin on October 6th. Attendance is free for Pix4D account holders, with a fee for non-users. It will be an opportunity to exchange ideas and best practices as well as for users to talk to the people behind their products, inspiring each other to achieve more in the future. Registration is open on the Pix4D website.

About Pix4D

Pix4D ( develops cutting-edge software that converts images taken by hand, drone, or plane into accurate and georeferenced survey-grade 2D mosaics, 3D models, and point clouds. Founded in 2011, Pix4D is rapidly expanding from its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, to offices in Berlin, Madrid, Denver, San Francisco, Shanghai, and Tokyo.

Pix4D is best known for PIX4Dmapper, the industry-leading photogrammetry software for drone mapping, and other software solutions like PIX4Dfields for agriculture, PIX4Dreact for emergency response, PIX4Dcloud for online drone mapping, progress tracking, and site documentation,  PIX4Dinspect for automated industrial inspection and asset management, Pix4Dmatic for large scale mapping and PIX4Dsurvey for efficient terrain modeling and vectorization.

Why is it online?

Due to changing Covid restrictions worldwide, Pix4D decided to have an online event rather than an in-person one. This has opened up the possibility of including users from all over the world, rather than ones only able to attend in a certain location. The fact that the event extends across 24 hours means that sessions will be taking place in a range of timezones and languages – principally in Japanese and Spanish, with translations available in certain other languages.

What does the attendance cost?

The event is free to Pix4D users and costs 99 USD for the rest of the public.

What if I’m in the wrong time zone for an event?

Sessions will be recorded and available to watch after the Conference, ensuring all time zones can view all sessions. It will be available for 6 months after the event.

Who else is involved?

The event has several sponsors, with Gnarbox as a silver sponsor and senseFly, viGram, and Wingtra as gold sponsors. GeoConnexion is Pix4D’s media partner for the event.
