SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY GEOSPATIAL INSTITUTE INTRODUCES NEW PROGRAMS

Accelerated 9-12-Month Master’s Program, GeoHealth Certificate and GEOINT Certificate Lead to In-Demand Careers

LOUIS: Saint Louis University’s Geospatial Institute (GeoSLU) has introduced three new programs including an accelerated 9-12-month master’s program in geospatial science, a GeoHealth Certificate and a Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Certificate. Through these programs and more, GeoSLU is training the future experts in this vital industry and addressing critical needs in the local workforce, especially after COVID-19.

An accelerated 9-12-month master’s program in geospatial science is not only unusual, but highly prized as geospatial techniques can be applied in a multitude careers and industries. Students are instructed by some of the world’s best experts, putting them in a position after graduation to find success. The program is available now for enrollment.

The second program offers SLU students the chance to earn a Geospatial Health Certificate; a Geospatial Health Certificate brings together training in public health and geospatial science and technology and applies it to real-world health challenges. Certificate holders will be uniquely skilled to grow in government, industry and research workforce.

Starting this fall, students at Saint Louis University also have the unique opportunity to receive a GEOINT Certificate to accompany their degree. SLU is one of only 18 universities to receive the GEOINT Certificate Accreditation which acknowledges the innovative excellence of the GeoSLU programs. Students who graduate with a Certificate can pursue internships and employment in the geospatial-intelligence community.

“Saint Louis University is uniquely qualified to train the next generation of geospatial scientists and innovators, growing the talent pipeline in St. Louis and beyond,” said Ken Olliff, Vice President for Research at Saint Louis University. “Geospatial-Intelligence is a field that will continue to grow post COVID-19. These programs help place our students in the industries of the future.”
