Sanborn Awarded Blanket Purchase Agreement from the GSA and the NGA to Provide Earth-Observation Products, Data and Services to Government Customers

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- Sanborn, a leader in professional mapping and GIS products and services, announces that it has been awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) by the General Services Administration (GSA) for “Earth Observation Solutions.” The Multiple Award BPA is a 5-year contract with an estimated cumulative value of $225 million, in effect until February 2024.

The earth observation solutions special item number (SIN) 132-41, organized under the GSA IT Schedule 70, was created in partnership with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) in support of the Commercial Initiative to Buy Operationally Responsive GEOINT (CIBORG).

The fundamental scope of the Earth Observation Solutions BPAs is to provide a streamlined process for Federal, State, Regional, Local and Tribal governments to procure geographic information products and services via cooperative purchase agreements. The BPA serves to simplify the contracting and purchase order process, while reducing administrative time and costs for both the Government customers and the BPA holders.

“Sanborn is pleased to be a part of the Government’s initiative to procure meaningful, high quality geospatial data in the most efficient way possible,” states Mr. John R. Copple, President/CEO of Sanborn. “Throughout Sanborn’s history, we have been on the forefront of mapping developments, providing valuable geographical data and imagery to our customers and our communities – and we look forward to continuing these efforts with the GSA and NGA.”

The earth observation solutions BPA is bringing together several related technologies and services to improve the geospatial data available to the government; and Sanborn is offering our traditional expertise and experience within imagery, elevation, human geography, change detection, analysis, etc., much of which is accessible through cloud based Software as a Service and Data as a Service functionality.
