This year at the NENA 2019 Conference GeoComm will be presenting at two presentations that will empower you to take your GIS data to the next level. The presentations are designed to help you stay ahead of the game and gain a professional edge. Public safety subject matter experts will deliver these presentations, address challenges faced in the industry, and provide insights on new technologies.
To begin, Deb Rozeboom will be one of the five panelists presenting on Unpacking GIS for NG9-1-1 on Sunday, June 16 at 2:30 p.m. This informative session will answer your GIS for NG9-1-1 questions. Join them to unpack the who, what, when, where, why, and how of GIS for NG9-1-1: Who uses the GIS data? What data is used? When and where is it used? Why is it important? And how does it work? Don’t forget to bring your questions, as they will be helping you unpack those, too!
Deb Rozeboom is one of GeoComm’s twenty-five subject matter experts who are dedicated to helping public safety professionals understand the role of GIS in 9-1-1 and NG9-1-1. Deb is a certified Emergency Number Professional (ENP), Project Management Professional (PMP), and GIS Professional (GISP). She has over 14 years experience leading numerous GIS, 9-1-1, and NG9-1-1 projects and currently serves on multiple NENA workgroups.
Kathy Liljequist will be co-presenting on Tuesday, June 18 at 10:00 a.m. at a session titled Keeping Address Points & Other GIS Data NG-Ready. This session will cover how you maintain your GIS data after you have improved it to meet the NENA NG9-1-1 GIS Data Model standard, check for ongoing quality, and more. Further discussion will focus specifically on site structure and address point importance, use history, role in NG9-1-1, and relationship to other data.
Kathy Liljequist, a GeoComm GIS consultant and another subject matter expert, has led hundreds of projects nationwide specific to public safety, GIS, and NG9-1-1. Kathy has been involved in NENA committees for over 15 years and has presented at conferences and other industry events across the country on topics related to NG9-1-1 GIS requirements.
