Esri Expands Data and Software Options for Business and Government Users

REDLANDS, Calif.— Esri, the global leader in location intelligence, today announced that that ArcGIS software users will have easy access to the most current data on the US population, retail expenditure, housing, workforce, and imagery data. Available through the June update of ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World, commercial, retail, real estate, and government users will now have access to refreshed demographic, expenditure, and segmentation data, as well as new global imagery.

“Business and government organizations of all forms rely on Esri to deliver the data they need to make more informed site selection, market analysis, and economic development decisions,” said Helen Thompson, Esri real estate strategy lead. “We continue to expand the data that these organizations rely on, simplify access, and create innovative new products that are updated automatically whenever new data is released.”

These data can be easily accessed and analyzed in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, Esri’s configurable mobile apps and dashboards, and Esri Story Maps. Retail, real estate companies, and government workflows have also been enhanced to support beautiful custom infographics; enhanced machine learning and artificial intelligence workflows for market classification and predictive analysis; BIM-CAD integration and new 3D visualization; and modeling and measurement tools to lets users work more seamlessly in 3D space.

Living Atlas—the foremost collection of global geographic information including maps, apps, and data layers—supports governments, businesses, and universities in performing research, analysis, and decision-making. It was enhanced in December with over 1,000 new attributes from the American Community Survey (ACS) tables from the US Census Bureau’s five-year estimates, new imagery from DigitalGlobe and other data that provides change information, human movement patterns, building footprints and other real-time feeds.
