Simulyze Wins AUVSI XCELLENCE Award for Innovation in UAS Data Connection Solutions

RESTON, Va.– Simulyze, Inc., a leading provider of operational intelligence (OI) technology and applications that empower both federal and commercial organizations, today announced it has been named as a 2nd place winner in the Data Connection Solutions category of the XCELLENCE Awards by the Association for Unmanned Vehicles Systems International (AUVSI). Winners were announced during the awards ceremony at AUVSI XPONENTIAL on Tues., April 30 in Chicago.

Mission Insight is an enterprise-level commercial solution that provides unprecedented situational awareness in real-time to UAS operators. Built on Simulyze’s proprietary operational intelligence (OI) platform, Mission Insight processes and analyzes large streams of data from disparate sources to provide air, land and sea operators, commanders and managers with a common operating picture (COP) in a customized graphical interface. From pre-operational planning to post-event analysis, Mission Insight creates a single, complete operational view of workflow data to enable safe and efficient commercial drone operations.

“The rapid growth of the unmanned systems industry is reshaping our future by expanding business markets, providing consumers with innovative solutions and even saving lives,” said Brian Wynne, president and CEO of AUVSI. “The XCELLENCE awards recognize companies and individuals who are achieving remarkable results with unmanned systems technology to benefit our communities.”

In 2018, Simulyze deployed Mission Insight in support of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Technical Capability Level 3 (TCL 3) National Campaign testing of its UAS traffic management (UTM) research platform. Directly supporting two UAS test sites in Alaska and North Dakota, Simulyze also completed NASA’s TCL 1 and TCL 2 National Campaigns in 2016 and 2017, respectively. The company has a Space Act Agreement with NASA in support of its UTM that runs through Dec. 2019. Simulyze also serves as a UAS Service Supplier (USS) for two Integration Pilot Program (IPP) projects awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

“We are honored to receive this recognition for Mission Insight and its role in achieving situational awareness for safe and efficient commercial drone operations,” said Kevin Gallagher, president and CEO of Simulyze. “We look forward to continuing our support of the emerging UAS industry as it takes off.”

Recognized for its federal and commercial drone work as well as its support of the research and development of UTM projects with NASA and the FAA, Simulyze is the only UAS service supplier that has exercised with all build versions of NASA’s UAS traffic management software. The company continues to play an integral part in supporting ongoing research phases.
