GeoDATA Forum Announce thought provoking programme including GIS & Big Data, Insurance and Mobility at GEO Business 2019

The GeoDATA Forum, officially supported by the AGI and OGC and sponsored by Verisk, takes up residency at the Business Design Centre (London), in its own exhibition hall housing some of the leading organisations in the field of geospatial data software and services.   Within the hall will be two dedicated open theatres hosting an array of commercial workshops and seminar sessions, all of which are FREE to attend.  Visitors will be welcome to walk freely between the two events, enjoying all the activities the shows have to offer. 3000 visitors from across the world are expected to attend, all eager to hear about new technological advances, attend hard hitting panel debates, learn from industry leaders and help form future geospatial strategy.

A whole host of industry leaders including 1 Spatial, Aligned Assets, Astun Technology, British Geological Survey, Cadline, Map Idea, Open Geospatial Consortium, Ordnance Survey, SCISYS, Verisk and more have chosen to support GeoDATA Forum by taking an exhibition stand in its maiden voyage alongside GEO Business.

As for the programme of events taking place over two days, there is a huge amount going on including two sessions focussed on GIS & Big Data with day one hosted by the former Chair of the AGI Abi Page of Eurogeographics and the second day hosted by the current chair Matt Leaver from Arcadis.  Within these sessions you can expect to hear from industry heavy hitters including; Charles Kennelly, CTO, ESRI; Mark Korver, Geospatial Lead, Amazon; Dr Marc Hobbell, Director EMEA, Pitney Bowes; Neil Ackroyd, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ordnance Survey; Paramjeet Sachdev, Director Centre of Excellence & SAP Platform & Technology, SAP.

In addition to GIS & Big Data, there are two sessions dedicated to Mobility (organised in partnership with Ordnance Survey) and Insurance.

Mobility means so much more than just getting from A to B. It can impact the environment, the economy, people’s health and numerous other facets of day to day life. In this session we will explore how accurate and authoritative geospatial data is underpinning new and developing mobility solutions, from the rise of autonomous vehicles, connected mobility infrastructure, electrification of transport systems and multi-modal and shared mobility.  This seminar, under the chairmanship of Simon Navin from Ordnance Survey, will focus on how geospatial can maximise the future of mobility.

Managing risk in an ever changing world is a critical task for professionals and business owners. Key is the role of geospatial data and analytics. This seminar will present diverse speakers on issues around insurance and risk management. Under the chairmanship of David Ellis of Verisk, presenters include George Lindsay, Chief Operating Officer of GSI, which specialises in transforming raw satellite data into valuable business intelligence. Other speakers include Mark Varley of AddressCloud; a speaker from Business Insight, who will focus on “The importance of location to understand insurance risk”; and Seppe Cassettari, Verisk GeoInformation who will talk about “’An external building condition classification for use by underwriters”.
