AED-SICAD Acquires the Dynamic Design Group

AED-SICAD GmbH, a leading geographic information-systems (GIS) company, has recently acquired all shares of the Dynamic Design Group. Dynamic Design develops, sells, implements and maintains software solutions for the planning and management of telecommunications networks.

With its ConnectMaster product family, the company complements the existing business of AED-SICAD, whose technology focuses on information systems and software solutions for the management and operation of distribution networks in the utilities and public-sector markets in Europe. These include electricity, gas, water, sewage and district heating, as well as land- management solutions for the public sector. AED-SICAD is owned by global investment firm Battery Ventures.

Dynamic Design was founded in 1993 and has positioned itself successfully in the telecommunications market under the leadership of its previous owners, Dr. Manfred Wetzlmair und Peter Egloff. More than 200 international customers from various market segments, like telecommunications, utilities and public transportation rely on the company`s products and services. Dynamic Design and AED-SICAD have already worked together on multiple large customer projects where they integrated their technologies.

With the integration of Dynamic Design into the company group of AED-SICAD, the competencies for software solutions for the management and operation of distribution networks from various branches are bundled.

“We are pleased to expand our solution competence in the telecommunications market together with Dynamic Design. The demand of our customers for software solutions for the management and operation of telecommunication networks has been constantly increasing and we expect it to accelerate with the new requirements from the ‘Internet of Things’. Together we can now offer a harmonized product portfolio which fulfills the requirements of our customers from a single source,” says Dr. Holger Schade, Managing Director of AED-SICAD.

The current Management of Dynamic Design will continue to be in the organization. Dr. Manfred Wetzlmair, Managing Director of Dynamic Design, is optimistic about the success of this cooperation: “We are pleased that we have found a strong partner in AED-SICAD. Its corporate culture and the company strategy fits perfectly with our own conceptions. With this transaction, we can move our company into a larger group and provide the necessary conditions for its long-term success.”

Both companies are confident that the collaboration will be beneficial in many areas, such as product development based on the market-leading Esri ArcGIS technology, sales and market development. This will have a positive impact on all current and future customers and will bring new and innovative products for managing their telecommunications infrastructure. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
