Fortem Technologies to Showcase DroneHunter and Fortem SkyDome Safety and Security Solutions at Utah State Capitol Building

SALT LAKE CITY – Fortem Technologies, an award-winning airspace awareness, safety and security company based in Pleasant Grove, Utah, today announced that it will demonstrate essential urban air mobility infrastructure to provide needed services, protect our privacy, and ensure our safety. The event will be held at the Utah State Capitol at Aerospace Day On The Hill. This fourth annual event, presented by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), will take place on Monday, February 11, 2019.

“We are thrilled to be here today alongside some of Utah’s leading aeronautic and tech companies to help Utah in its efforts to increase transportation safety and to improve the environment with a safe and secure airspace for Utah public safety first responders, businesses and citizens.” said Fortem CEO Timothy Bean. “The recent disruption to air travel due to rogue drones at London airports, as well as New Jersey’s Newark airport, are just a few examples of how important it is to fortify critical infrastructure from the air in order to enjoy the benefits to society of drone and air taxi services.”

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. MT, in advance of the legislature going into session, Fortem will demonstrate how its SkyDome, TrueView radar and DroneHunter solutions work to detect a threat, classify and assess it, then autonomously pursue and capture the offending drone. The demonstration will take place above the east lawn of the Capitol building and will run several times throughout the morning.

Fortem’s artificial intelligence-enabled SkyDome software and TrueView radar digitize airspace, making it possible to differentiate threatening and non-threatening airborne objects, and to protect infrastructure, airports, venues, government buildings, cities and borders against malicious drones. The Fortem DroneHunter is a predator drone that can be cued by SkyDome to pursue careless, clueless, malicious or terrorist drones autonomously, capture them with a net and bring it back for forensic analysis. DroneHunter has flown over 7,500 missions and has over 3,000 successful kills, leading the industry by a wide margin with an over 85 percent successful kill rate.
Fortem’s solution enables the quick analysis of drone threat levels so law enforcement officials can take action and respond to each unique threat. This platform also acts as a foundation for cueing other sensors, such as optics and thermal cameras, which can empower even more detailed identification and threat assessment making the positive and beneficial aspects of the drone economy possible.

Aerospace Day On The Hill will take place at the Utah Capitol building on February 11, 2019, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. MT. Breakfast will be provided for attendees.
