Boundless to Sponsor AGS Geography Teacher Fellows Program at Geography 2050

LOUIS, Mo. Boundless, the leader in open and scalable GIS, today announced it will sponsor the American Geographical Society (AGS) Geography Teacher Fellows Program at Geography 2050 Fall Symposium, taking place Nov. 15-16, 2018 in New York City, for the third consecutive year.

Geography 2050 is a multi-year, high-level strategic dialog among thought leaders from academia, government, and the world of business. Organized by the AGS in 2014, the purpose of this continuing dialog is to facilitate discussion of the major forces that will shape our planet’s future. Undoubtedly, energy will be one the most important factors influencing geopolitics, environmental quality, transportation routes, military conflicts, standards of living, world economies, food production, technical innovation, and the mass movement of people. Because of its pivotal role in the future of the human species, the theme of this year’s Geography 2050 Symposium is Powering Our Future Planet.

As part of its commitment to promoting geography education and geospatial literacy across the U.S., Boundless continues its three-year sponsorship of more than 50 Advanced Placement (AP™) Human Geography teachers to attend Geography 2050 and participate in discussions centered around evangelizing geography education at all levels. The AGS Teacher Fellows will have the opportunity to interact with industry leaders and bring back to their classrooms the most recent advances in geographical education and practical application of the latest geospatial tools available.
