Las Vegas Police Department Chooses Motorola Solutions’ New Digital Evidence Management System for a Secure and Integrated Unified Platform

CHICAGO – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) selected Motorola Solutions’ (NYSE:MSI) Digital Evidence Management System in a recently signed 10-year, $18.98 million contract. This end-to-end solution is unique to the market in that it ensures the integrity of evidence while also simplifying workflows for police officers via a single sign-on portal for all evidence tied to an incident. The solution is part of Motorola Solutions’ complete CommandCentral software suite that provides a unified experience across emergency call handling, command and control, and management of records and evidence.

As part of this next generation of digital evidence management solution, LVMPD will use CommandCentral Vault to collect, store and make readily accessible digital evidence, including fixed video footage, crime scene photos and other data, to quickly respond to information requests and keep cases moving forward. The solution features deep integration and auto correlation between the records management system and CommandCentral Vault.

Another key component of the CommandCentral software suite, CommandCentral Aware, will help the department aggregate and integrate streaming video, real-time alerts, advanced data analytics, resource tracking, social media analytics, voice, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), records information and more into a single, intuitive interface with layered geospatial mapping.

LVMPD will also use Motorola Solutions’ CommandCentral Analytics to compile historical incident data from existing computer-aided dispatch and record systems into heat charts, graphs, maps and activity timeline views. In addition, TipSubmit and CrimeReports from Motorola Solutions will be employed to create a two-way dialogue with the community by enabling residents and visitors to proactively share local crime information while gaining visibility into agency operations.

Our top priority is building mission-critical solutions that drive safer cities, and a major part of that is ensuring all evidence tied to an incident is readily accessible,” said Larry Mabry, vice president of sales, Motorola Solutions. “Motorola Solutions’ Digital Evidence Management System allows police departments to better allocate their time by automating backend processes, and it takes evidence management one step further by building trust in the community through transparency around evidence chain of custody.”

The Digital Evidence Management System will be integrated with LVMPD’s existing Motorola Solutions software and products, including PremierOne CAD and Records. The department will be able to better serve the community and the millions of visitors that come to Las Vegas every year by using one unified platform to manage the entire incident lifecycle from emergency call management to incident reporting.
