Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Association Selects John M. Palatiello & Associates for Executive Organization Management

Reston, VA – John M. Palatiello & Associates, Inc. (JMP&A), an association management firm specializing in engineering and geospatial related markets, has been selected by the recently established Subsurface Utility Engineering Association (SUEA) as its turnkey association management company.

 

JMP&A will provide overall association management services and guide the day-to-day operations of the association. The firm will be involved in financial management; member communications; public and media relations; education and conference planning; and government affairs advocacy. The firm’s President, John M. Palatiello, will serve as Executive Director.

 

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with the SUE Association to launch the new organization, strengthen its position in the market, grow the membership, and serve the SUE profession,” said Mr. Palatiello.

 

JMP&A was retained as an association consultant to explore the feasibility of a SUE association, conducting focus group sessions, managing a market survey, and organizing a kick-off conference held July 26 in Washington, DC. The conference heard from SUE professionals, Rep. Randy Weber (R-TX), a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure as well as the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology; Deputy Assistant Secretary of Transportation Anthony Bedell, and Bobby Fraser, Director, Office of Governmental, International, and Public Affairs of the Pipelines and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), U.S. Department of Transportation. At the conference, participants adopted bylaws, approved a dues structure, and elected the first Board of Directors. JMP&A was subsequently selected by the Board to manage the association.
