Radiant Solutions Awarded Contract from the Army Geospatial Center

HERNDON, Va.- Radiant Solutions, a Maxar Technologies Ltd. company (formerly MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd.) (NYSE: MAXR; TSX: MAXR), announced that it has signed a follow-on contract with the Army Geospatial Center (“AGC”) valued at US$2.6 million for their Remote Ground Terminal (“RGT”) program. AGC exercised an option extending Radiant Solutions provision of systems engineering and software development to enhance the RGT program that can provide critical information directly to military and humanitarian aid/disaster relief missions by providing timely access to high resolution commercial imagery.

Developed by Radiant Solutions in partnership with AGC, the RGT is an ultra-transportable ground receiving and processing solution for commercial satellite remote sensing data; receiving both optical and synthetic aperture radar (“SAR”). Optical satellites provide high resolution images that capture areas under one meter, but need light to record the images, and SAR satellites acquire data regardless of light or weather condition; combining multiple sources of data to support 24/7 coverage. The RGT is unique because it provides the high performance of larger systems but in a very compact package that can be delivered in-theatre by air or land. This capability allows the U.S. Army to access timely geospatial data, from multiple sources, in locations with extremely limited infrastructure anywhere in the world and within hours of an event.

“This contract exemplifies the combined strength of Maxar, and draws from the company’s three decades of expertise for mobile and fixed ground stations,” said Don Schaefer, senior vice president and chief strategy officer at Radiant Solutions.
