Maxar Technologies, Leader in New Space Economy, Announces Move of its Headquarters to Westminster, Colorado

WESTMINSTER, Colo.- Maxar Technologies Ltd. (“Maxar” or the “Company,” formerly MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd.), (NYSE and TSX: MAXR), a leading global provider of advanced space technology solutions for commercial and government markets, today announced plans to move its corporate headquarters to Westminster, Colorado from San Francisco.

“We are excited to become part of the dynamic Denver business and tech community,” said Howard L. Lance, president and chief executive officer of Maxar Technologies. “This move represents an opportunity to bring together our executive leadership team in a common location, as well as to establish a base for our future shared-services organizations. Maxar is committed to accelerating innovation in the space industry, providing space systems, robotics, Earth imagery, geospatial data and analytics solutions that empower a better world.”

Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper and Mr. Lance made the joint announcement of the move from the lobby of Maxar’s new headquarters in an event attended by state, county and local officials. “We are proud Maxar chose Colorado as its new home,” Governor Hickenlooper said. “Their presence in the Denver Metro area reflects our state’s commitment to innovation, business and job growth. Colorado is a global leader in tech and aerospace. By locating here, Maxar now has access to our highly educated and skilled talent pool.”

Maxar Corporate headquarters will be located within the DigitalGlobe business unit facility, acquired by Maxar Technologies in October 2017. Maxar’s three other technology businesses are Radiant Solutions, based in Herndon, Virginia; SSL, based in Palo Alto, California; and MDA, based in Richmond, Ottawa, Brampton, Montreal and Halifax, Canada. Currently, DigitalGlobe employs 1,000 people in Colorado, with 800 of them in the Westminster facility. The move of Maxar’s headquarters and growth in DigitalGlobe is expected to result in the addition of approximately 800 jobs over the next eight years.

“I’m proud of the work DigitalGlobe, and now Maxar Technologies, is doing here in Colorado,” said U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter of Colorado’s 7th District. “These are the types of innovative technologies and services that generate good-paying jobs, requiring the highly-skilled workforce we are working to attract and develop in the state. I look forward to seeing how Maxar Technologies continues to innovate and grow here in Colorado.”

Maxar’s four business units provide solutions to the U.S. government, Canadian government, over a dozen international governments, commercial aerospace and tech customers around the globe including Lockheed, Boeing, Google and Apple, as well as NGOs such as The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Said Lance, “We are grateful for the continued support of the Colorado Economic Development Commission, Governor Hickenlooper and the State of Colorado for job growth-based incentives, as well as for the significant support offered by the City of Westminster and Adams County. This is a really exciting time to be in the space technology business. We’re driving innovation in all of our locations across North America, and Colorado offers many advantages as our new corporate hub.”
