Woolpert Awarded $7.6M in Imagery, Consulting Contracts for USAF

DAYTON, Ohio  — Woolpert has been awarded two 12-month contracts totaling $7.6 million in support of the U.S. Air Force (USAF) GeoBase program, which is led by the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) in San Antonio, Texas.

GeoBase is the program of record that provides installation geospatial information and services to assist with inventorying, operating and stewarding all built and natural infrastructure assets across worldwide USAF facilities.

Under the first awarded contract, Woolpert will collect and deliver orthoimagery and lidar data over 40 Air Force installations in eight countries. These include the U.S. and Alaska’s Aleutian Islands, the United Kingdom, the Republic of South Korea, Japan, Qatar, Kuwait, Honduras and Greenland.

This $5.3 million contract is part of a regular cycle of imagery collection that provides the USAF with a high-fidelity image of the real-world installation environment. Each image serves dual functions as providing a basis for identifying and compiling current, authoritative layers of man-made and environmental assets, as well as a powerful visual backdrop for decision-makers who employ geospatial technologies to fulfill the requirements of the USAF’s business mission.

The second contract awarded to Woolpert, valued at $2.3 million, is to deliver consulting and geographic information systems (GIS) support to multiple Air Force organizations. The consulting services range from tactical, on-site daily operations to strategic consulting involving policy, enterprise architecture, and multiple other services to help ensure the USAF derives the greatest benefits from its investment in geospatial information resources, data systems and imagery.

These contracts are underway and will expire in September 2018.
