IMAGINiT Technologies to Offer Leica’s BLK360 Laser Scanner

OWINGS MILLS, MD Customers looking to add the revolutionary new Leica BLK360 imaging scanner to their portfolio, can work with IMAGINiT Technologies to discover how to incorporate the smallest, most affordable and first of its kind scanner, into their workflows.

Creating a class of its own, the Leica BLK360 scanner is the world’s smallest and lightest laser scanner. As Leica Geosystems’ Laser Scanning Reseller of the Year, IMAGINiT is now offering customers the opportunity to reserve the BLK30, and has also created SmartStart, a service that teaches the essentials for BLK360 success.

“As an Autodesk Platinum Partner and a Leica Geosystems Platinum partner, IMAGINiT experts understand every aspect of the laser scanning workflow from capturing field data to utilizing it in 3D design software and taking the model back into the field,” says Tim Johnson, senior vice president, IMAGINiT Technologies. “When used properly, the BLK360 has the opportunity to radically change the game and our SmartStart program ensures customers achieve their intended success.”

IMAGINiT’s SmartStart Program for the Leica BLK360

SmartStart is based on IMAGINiT’s in-depth knowledge of Leica Geosystems’ solutions, Autodesk software, building information modeling (BIM) and the building lifecycle. Designed specifically for field and office staff using the BLK360 scanner, IMAGINiT’s SmartStart program establishes best practices so teams can immediately deploy the BLK360 and make their first project a success.

By the end of the intensive two-day onsite training, staff will be fully prepared to use the BLK360 and Autodesk ReCap Pro to collect accurate field data, efficiently process that data, and then effectively use the data to benefit their 3D models.

Leica BLK360 Imaging Scanner and Autodesk ReCap Pro

The Leica BLK360 imaging scanner, paired with Autodesk ReCap Pro for mobile, simplifies the way that architects, engineers and designers capture and utilize building data. Companies without previous scanning expertise will now be able to create high quality, accurate scans and easily transfer them into 3D design software such as Autodesk Revit.

With an optimal range of 10 – 20 meters, the Leica BLK360 imaging scanner is also a complementary tool for companies that rely more extensively on data collected by high definition scanning (HDS) units like those in the Leica High Definition Scanning product line. While scans from HDS units can provide the backbone for a building information model, the BLK360 can be used as a supplemental unit to provide detailed data on smaller spaces including MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) and HVAC (Heating, ventilation and air conditioning) layouts.
